Chennai: The first tournament of the local Seervi community, sponsored by Manli Seervi Samaj, was held at the Vasudev Temple Sports Complex in Madhavaram. Indian Bank Manager Vaibhav, as the chief guest, encouraged all the players.
In the tournament, 10 teams from the Seervi community participated, with each team playing 9 league matches. In the semi-finals, Mataji Sports Club defeated IG Sports Club Tirupati, while Seervi Sports Club defeated IG Sports Club Chengalpet, securing their place in the final. Mataji Sports Club clinched the trophy by defeating Seervi Sports Club Vyaspada in a tough competition. IG Sports Club Tirupati secured third place, and IG Sports Club Chengalpet finished fourth.
Suresh Seervi was awarded the Best Setter, Chandrararam was named the Man of the Match, Kanaram Seervi was honored as the Best Attacker, Madhuram received the Best Center award, and Chenaram was awarded the Player of the Tournament.
The organizing committee expressed gratitude to the main supporters of the tournament, Narayan Lal, Mangilal, Mohan Lal, Kanaram, Chenaram, and Suresh Seervi.
