New Delhi, August 1 (UNI): The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced nationwide protests on Wednesday, August 2, against the brutal attack on a Hindu religious procession in Haryana’s Mewat region, condemning jihadist violence and cruelty.
Dr. Surendra Jain, the Central Joint General Secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, said during a press conference here today that whatever happened in Mewat, Haryana, yesterday was extremely unfortunate. Every year during the month of Shravan, devotees visit five ancient temples in Mewat to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. However, this time, the entire region turned into a mini-Pakistan with incidents of firing, stone-pelting, and hurling petrol bombs at women, children, and other devotees.
Dr. Jain accused those who incited these rioters and stated that due to their instigation, violent incidents occur during Muharram and Ram Navami as well. The exact number of casualties is still unknown, and the administration has not provided accurate figures. The concern and proper treatment of the injured are being taken care of.
“This incident created a severely hostile atmosphere, similar to a direct action in Noah (Nuh), and I would like to tell those religious leaders who try to provoke on any pretext that it has shown disastrous consequences. It is not appropriate; it is a suicidal tendency,” Dr. Jain said. He questioned the future of the young children brought forward to participate in these violent acts and warned that even if they may have a majority, it does not mean they will turn Mewat into a Hindu graveyard. Such heinous acts cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.
The VHP announced that on August 2, protests against this cruel attack on the Hindu religious procession will take place across the entire country and in all district locations, where they will burn effigies representing jihad. As a result of this terrorist attack, two Bajrang Dal activists were mercilessly killed, and two others from the community sacrificed their lives. The VHP demands that each of their families be provided with one crore rupees. The injured should receive 20 lakhs, and those whose vehicles and buses were damaged should be fully compensated, which is the responsibility of the government. The entire Mewat region should be sealed off and combing operations should be conducted to arrest each jihadist and give them stringent punishments. Only then can the ongoing anti-Hindu, anti-national terrorism in Mewat be stopped.
